09 June 2022, Vienna.
The INCODING project has organized the international workshop «Embracing and Resisting the Algorithm; Workers’ Strategies, Union Responses and Employers’ Reactions» at the Centre for Social Innovation (Zentrum für Soziale Innovation – ZSI) in Vienna. Against the background of the increasing use of algorithms and A.I.-features in the organization of work, the aim of this workshop was to review and debate its impact on working conditions across several countries and sectors. For that purpose, the workshop counted with a first session of papers presented by Didem Özkiziltan (Department of Economics and Management, University of Parma), Carl Fredrik Söderqvist (Blekinge Institute of Technology) and Claudia Mara’ (Centre for Sociological Research, Katholieke Universiteit Leuven). The second session consisted of the presentation of the initial results of the cases studied in the Incoding project.
